Love Their Way Privacy Policy

Overview
Love Their Way is operated by Stoddco LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have when you use the Love Their Way mobile app, related websites, and support channels (together, the "Service").
Love Their Way is designed to help people understand and express care more thoughtfully. Because the app can include personal relationship details, we aim to handle that information with care and restraint.
Information We Collect
Account information
If you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, sign-in credentials, account identifier, and basic profile information. If you sign in through Apple, Google, or another login provider, we may receive the account details they share with us.
Quiz responses and relationship data
We collect the information you add to use the app's core features, such as love language quiz responses, preferences, relationship details, linked-partner information, and any notes you save about the person or people you care about.
Reminders and notification preferences
We collect reminder settings, milestone dates, notification preferences, time zone information, and similar scheduling data so we can send reminders you ask us to send.
Optional user content
If you choose to use features like wish lists, the Love Jar, notes, memory entries, date ideas, or milestone tracking, we collect the content you create and store in those areas.
Device and usage information
We may collect limited technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, approximate region, and feature usage data. This helps us keep the app working, understand what is useful, and improve reliability.
How We Use Information
- Provide the app's features, including saved relationship details, reminders, wish lists, and Love Jar entries.
- Support linking between users where that feature is offered.
- Send reminders, service messages, and important account notices.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot bugs or syncing problems.
- Understand how people use the Service and improve features if analytics are enabled in the future.
- Respond to support requests, feedback, and account-related questions.
How Linking and Shared Data Work
If the app allows you to link with another person, some information may be shared or synced between linked accounts to make that shared experience work. For example, this may include relationship preferences, selected profile details, or shared items you intentionally add for the relationship. Not every note or entry is necessarily shared, and some content may remain private to the account that created it depending on how the feature is designed.
Third-Party Services We May Use
We may use service providers that process information on our behalf. Depending on which features are enabled, those providers may include:
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, and syncing.
- OpenAI for AI-generated suggestions, insights, and related features.
- Apple and Google for app distribution and sign-in where those options are offered.
These providers only receive the information reasonably needed to perform their services. Their handling of data is also governed by their own privacy terms.
Analytics
As of the effective date of this policy, we do not enable third-party product analytics in production. If that changes later, we may collect information such as screens viewed and features used to understand what is helpful, where people get stuck, and how to improve the experience. We would update this policy if we materially change those practices.
Crash Reporting
As of the effective date of this policy, we do not enable third-party crash reporting in production. If we add crash monitoring tools later, we may collect technical diagnostics such as app version, device type, and error details to help fix problems faster. We would update this policy if those practices materially change.
AI Features
Love Their Way uses AI to help generate features such as suggestions, ideas, and insights. User-entered relationship content may be sent to OpenAI to generate those features. We do not use customer content to train our own models, and AI-related content is processed by OpenAI under its applicable API and data handling terms.
Legal Bases and Consent
Where required by law, we process personal information based on one or more of the following: your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, the need to perform our contract with you, or compliance with legal obligations.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may keep certain records for a longer period when needed for backups, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or to enforce our agreements. If you request account deletion, we aim to complete deletion of your account data within 30 days, subject to those exceptions. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before being overwritten or removed. Support and transaction-related records may be retained longer where legally required or reasonably needed for compliance and dispute resolution.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. That said, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your device and login credentials secure as well.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also be able to update some information directly in the app. To make a request, contact us at stoddco93@gmail.com.
If you live in California, you may also have rights under California privacy law, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct certain information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. Love Their Way is not sold as a data broker service, and we do not sell personal information for money.
Children's Privacy
Love Their Way is not intended for children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
International Use
If you use the Service from outside the country where it is operated, your information may be processed and stored in other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, by email, or by updating the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after the updated policy becomes effective means the updated version will apply.
